Awkwafina was an American actor and musician. She started by releasing funny, well-written music that tackled questions of racial identity as well as sexuality. Then she expanded her fan base to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first experience with music came through the instrument of trumpet. After classical and Jazz training her interest in hip-hop grew as a teen. While in college, she took classes in the field of women's studies and journalism. She even spent an hour studying Mandarin at the University of Beijing. She didn't start focusing on music until the time she finished her studies. The My Vag song, My Vag which was her response to Mickey Avalons My Dick, became a popular viral sensation across the Internet and was later featured on her first LP Yellow Ranger. The album also featured viral hit tracks like body-positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$. This latter song was directly linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. Her resume contained both an musicians and an author. The singer was seeking to further her career in acting. She has appeared in films such as Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. Her breakthrough came in 2018 with a few movies that were highly regarded, such as Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
