Farrah Fawcett is an American actress, artist and model, best known for playing the role in the film 'The Apostle'. She was nominated six times for the Golden Globe Award and four times for the Emmy Award. Her acting journey began at the age of 16 in Texas and was based in Corpus Christi. She also starred in guest characters in TV series, like 'I Dream of Jeannie' and The Flying Nun. In the French film, 'Love Is A Funny Thing she was a secondary actor. She was internationally recognized for her red swimsuit pin-up, that became the most popular poster of all time. As she got older her appearances continued in a variety of popular TV shows and films that helped establish her place as a leading sex figure in the world of entertainment. Her portrayal of a private detective in the crime drama"Charlie's Angels" was a huge hit. The series followed the adventures of three women who worked in a Los Angeles private detective firm. Apart from playing glamorous characters, she was also reputed to play dramatic roles including the one of a battered woman in the TV movie, 'The Burning bed. Her name was placed as number 26 on TV Guide's "50 Greatest TV celebrities of all time'. Anal cancer was first discovered at the age 59. She died three years later.
